Biology is about living things as handle by Nature. In "The Brain of the Firm", Stafford Beer describes how socio-technical organisms follow the same pattern and rules to maintain themselves alive.

However, the demonstration was quite complex and (for me) sometimes boring. This subsequent book is much more practical and articulate: I could always match experienced situations to support an much easier and applicable reading.

Another work on system science applied to organizations. This one is really outstanding, much easier to read than Beer's from whom it essentially build on. As a recent writing, it takes benefit of the many discovery since the Beer's age, namely complexity and chaos theories.
