3 books with appealing titles. A fabulous, vertiginous reading. To make a long story short, the most obvious constituent of the universe is the one we cannot measure, escaping from direct observation, but present in everything.

Information, or in-formation is what ties things, us, the world in "tangible" entities. Pre-big bang mystery, ultimate World's destiny, entropy quantum mechanics, relativity, or even parallel worlds, ghosts, God... (not quoted by TS) begin to somewhat unify. This unfinished work is highly controversial (see the readers' critics), but it makes a lot of sens and would deserve a follow up.
